Cool Stuff (Mostly FREE!)
WinAmp
The best multimedia client I've ever used. Way better than Windows
Media Player. The free download is robust and includes everything
most users would ever need, including free access to internet radio (Shoutcast,
AOL Radio with SM Satellite). If you've visited my place over the past
year or so, and liked the music, it probably was streaming free through
WinAmp.
Spybot
Search & Destroy
This is the best spybot removal/immunization software I've found yet.
It is free, but they accept donations. I've used it for so many
years that I don't hesitate to make the occasional donation!
Picasa
Google's free image management client. This program will help you
to manage and optimize your photos on your system (it handles video too,
but doesn't currently have any editing features for it), and you can
also upload your pics/video to your online account to share with others.
Good privacy features for those who want to share content that wouldn't
be appropriate for broadcasting openly, such as pics of your kids.

Excellent file recovery client. Ever format a disk accidentally?
Or delete a file you shouldn't have? Or crash your system?
This application has saved my bacon on more than a few occasions.
